High intake of fruits and vegetables may brighten a woman's chances of preventing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
This study assessed the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in women based on the level of consumption of fruits and vegetables. Researchers examined the health data and eating habits of more than 88,000 American women over a 14-year period.
The research team observed that women who consumed 6 or more servings of fruits and vegetables per day were had better chances of evading non-Hodgkin's lymphoma than their colleagues who ate little or none of these plant foods. This study adds to the multitude of studies describing the protective effect of high fruit and vegetable diet against non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
