Eating berries consistently may boost our body's defenses in the fight against oxidative stress-induced damages.
This meta-analysis focused on how the consumption of berries affects plasma levels of biomarkers of oxidative stress. Researchers compiled data extracted from 28 randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Researchers discovered that habitual ingestion of berries correlated with declining concentrations of free radicals and biomarkers of oxidative stress in the blood. The results of this study showed that including more berries in our diets may help to reduce the rate of cellular damage arising from oxidative stress.
