Association Between Ultraprocessed Food Consumption and Mortality Among US Adults: Prospective Cohort Study of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2003-2008

Lovers of ultra-processed foods may have a high probability of dying prematurely.

​This study looked at the impact of avid consumption of ultra-processed foods on mortality risk. Researchers monitored the dietary habits and mortality records in a study population comprising of more than 38,000 US men and women. 

Researchers found a high death toll among consumers of ultra-processed foods. The results of this study showed that fondness for ultra-processed foods may increase an individual's likelihood of suffering from untimely death.
