The odds of attempting suicide may be high among adolescents who enjoyed consuming fast foods.
This study evaluated the relationship between fondness for fast foods and the incidence of suicide among adolescents. Researchers looked at dietary and suicide data obtained from 105,061 adolescents aged 12-15 years living across 32 countries.
Researchers observed that avid consumers of fast foods were more likely to attempt suicide than non-consumers of these types of foods. This study points out that high dietary intake of fast foods may increase suicide rates among adolescents.
