Ultra-processed food eaters may be at risk of becoming distressed psychologically.
Are ultra-processed food consumers prone to suffering from psychological distress? The objective of this study was to provide an answer to this question. More than 23,000 Australian men and women took part in this study and offered information about their dietary habits and occurrence of psychological distress.
Researchers identified a trend towards increased prevalence of psychological distress among passionate consumers of ultra-processed foods. This study demonstrated that lovers of ultra-processed foods may have a high tendency to experience psychological distress.
