Adopting the habit of consuming soy foods regularly may confer women with significant protection against non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
This research work studied how a high soy diet influences an individual's chances of having non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Researchers assessed the soy eating habits of 302 Japanese men and women with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and 1,510 individuals without the disease.
Researchers noticed that indulgence in soy foods significantly decreased the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in women, but not in men. Based on the data from this study, there is a protective association between frequent intake of soy foods and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in women.
