This study assessed whether a high soy food diet can affect a woman's chances of suffering from death due to lung cancer. Researchers tracked the frequency of consumption of soy foods before and after diagnosis among 444 female lung cancer patients.
Researchers noted that long-term consumption of soy foods before the development of lung cancer correlated with lower mortality risk in the study population. This study concluded that pre-diagnosis intake of soy foods may improve a woman's odds of surviving lung cancer.
