Eating a high soy diet may put an individual in a great position to avoid type 2 diabetes.
This study investigated the correlation between the intake of soy foods and the occurrence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers analyzed data obtained from 19 studies.
Researchers identified an inverse relationship between soy food consumption and reduced likelihood of type 2 diabetes. The study concluded that "soy products and soy constituents (soy protein and soy isoflavones) may be associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus."
