Frequent consumption of cruciferous vegetables may help improve a woman's chances of avoiding ovarian cancer.
This research work investigated the hypothesis that adequate intake of cruciferous vegetables may be beneficial in the prevention of ovarian cancer. A group of researchers from the United States looked at dietary and health records of more than 1,500 women.
The research team found out that the risk of getting ovarian cancer was lower in regular consumers of cruciferous vegetables than in women who rarely ate or completely avoided eating these vegetables. The results of this study support the hypothesis that greater intake of cruciferous vegetables may confer women with significant protection against ovarian cancer.
