Vegetarian dietary patterns and mortality in Adventist Health Study 2.

Vegetarians may have a lower tendency of dying from chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular and kidney ailments, than non-vegetarians.

This study examined the connection between consuming a vegetarian diet and mortality risk. Researchers at Linda Loma University tracked the diets and mortality records of more than 90,000 Seventh-day Adventist men and women for almost 6 years.

The team of researchers observed that vegetarians were less likely to suffer from deaths due to cardiovascular ailments, kidney disorders, and other chronic diseases compared to non-vegetarians. The authors concluded that eating vegetarian diets can result in lower mortality risk.
