I became an environmental vegetarian between high school and college. I joined the U.S. State Department as a diplomat/Foreign Service Officer, specializing in science, environment, and health. When living in Rome, I befriended an animal rights vegan who would send me all sorts of videos about the dairy and egg industry. I finally "got it" and became a vegan (not just a WFPB person....but quit purchasing anything with animal-derived parts.) I was living in DC when the pandemic hit and decided to go SOS-free when my gym closed so I wouldn't gain 19 during COVID 19. I retired to San Antonio on Halloween 2020, where I now lead a compassionate, healthy life. I'm thrilled there is a plant doc so close, especially after leaving the land of the great Dr. Neal Barnard.
