My diet has been oil free and plant based for over 18 months and I love this way of cooking and eating. It isn't easy when you have been raised on the SAD and your kids want meat in their meals most of the time along with the cheese and all the other bad dairy choices. My reason is simple, at age 57 I had a triple bypass. After the surgery I was given the same food that had probably help cause my heart attack and then told to take medication for the rest of my life. I took the pills for about a month and didn't like the side effects so I stopped the medication and started eating better, or so I thought. We had lots of salmon and bone broth and food cooked in olive oil and we were told how healthy that was. After awhile I didn't feel so healthy and in the past I had tried to be a vegetarian and so I started looking at some of the information on the internet and decided to go plant based January 2017. I have always been in pretty good shape and in fact my heart attack happened while working out in the gym. I'm a little over 5'10" and weight about 145 lbs.
I have recently had my blood work done and my cholesterol and testosterone were on the high side. If I knew how to attach my results I could show you the difference in the last 2 reports but I have had no animal products and I was hoping it would be extra low, not higher than normal and i'm sure my doctor is going to tell me to take the pills to get it down.
Thanks, Jim More ...
