Lack of Sleep Impairs Immune System
The cold and flu season is upon us. Many of us take extra precautions this time of year guarding ourselves against spreading germs. Consuming a health-supporting diet rich in whole plant foods should be our first line of defense in preventing colds and flu. These foods contain an arsenal of protective compounds which boost our immune system.
Getting enough sleep every night, as Dr. Michael Greger points out in this video, also boosts our immune system. When following these recommendations, you will notice a reduction in the number of colds your family gets each year. So eat those veggies, get adequate sleep, and wash those hands!
