Low Plant Food Intake = Increased Rate of Disease
Everywhere we look, we are confronted with the outcomes of recent studies which tout the benefits of low-carb high-protein diets, saturated animal fats, coconut oil...and the list goes on. Because of this, we thought it would be helpful to start circulating the results of scientific studies which reveal the opposite to be true.
Show Me The Science!
Notice how the rate of heart disease and cancer (red) are the greatest in the countries that consume the fewest whole plant foods. Heart disease and cancer rates rise and fall in direct proportion to the percent of whole plant foods consumed in the diet of that population. As the percentage of whole plant foods increases (green) the incidence of heart disease and cancer decreases (red). However, when plant food consumption is minimal, rate of disease is significantly higher.
