I have attached my latest blood sugar chart. One interesting thing was that on 2/8 I was told my work contract with the City of Austin was being terminated, in 3 days, due to a lack of funds. This occurred after I had reduced Metformin to 500mg once a day from the twice a day I had been taking. I did that after a couple of stable days with my blood in the 80's. Well lack of work ----> Stress ----> and increase in Cortisol ---> glucose ----> higher blood sugar. If I have this wrong feel free to let me know. So my blood sugar spiked and I had to re-engage the 2x500mg of Metformin again.
Here's the chart.

MoreThe best I have found so far is a study regarding the occurrence of toxigenic fungi during the drying process. at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29154716. In 2013 Johns Hopinks release a study indicating that liquid smoke has the same "DNA destabilization" affect as coffee and black tea. You can read about that study at https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/media/releases/cancer_biologists_find_dna_damaging_toxins_in_common_plant_based_foods
CyTA journal of food produced a study back in 2012 that has some information on what they found regarding the antioxident effect of smoked paprika. You can find that at https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/19476337.2012.700952
Happy reading :)

My Journey extra - Calcium score drops 20%

Back in late 2017 my doctor, at the time, asked me to have a calcium score. The score came back at 513 which is pretty bad. I had heard that, while a good WFPB diet will work wonders on heart congestion but does not impact calcium buildup.
Some research suggested that taking K2 MK7 slows calcification and may reduce it. Well I have taken a K2 mk7 supplement for a year and my latest calcium score taken in Jan 2019 was 404. I am stating this for interest only. I am not representing this is a scientific test but for me the result is promising.
I am not recommending anyone do take a supplement of any kind without your doctor's approval.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully. Item will now be visible on your stream. -

On 1/2/19 I started eating my main meal first thing in the morning. The meal consisted of kale, fresh cilantro, beans, baby potatoes and squash, cooked with red and green bell peppers, Jalapenos,in a tomato garlic and cilantro seed sauce. - size 4 cups.
At lunch I ate 2 cups of kale and beans. In the evening, 2 cups of a berry pudding consisting of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and pears cooked with quinoa.
I aimed top drink 64oz of water a day. Through a miscalculation of the travel cup size I was using, it turned out I actually was drinking 72oz of water. I drank the first 18oz on waking which worked out to be 1 hour before breakfast. A second 18oz an hour after breakfast, the 3rd at 1pm and the last one during by pudding at around 5pm
I made it to bed by 8pm (6-7pm some nights) and rose at 5AM on week days. Friday and Saturday I retired to bed at 10PM (once I slipped to 11PM) and arose Saturday and Sunday by 7:30AM. So in short I have been fasting from 5pm - 8am or 15 hours.
The following graph shows my blood sugar results so far. While I should have started taking 500mg of Metformin with breakfast and 500mg with evening meal, I didn't start this straight away as it took me a while to get to CVS to fill the prescription.
I hope this is of interest
