Relation of Different Fruit and Vegetable Sources With Incident Cardiovascular Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Prospective Cohort Studies
Diets that favor the consumption of fruits and vegetables may help hinder the development of stroke, coronary heart disease, and cardiovascular ailments in men and women.
This meta-analysis reviewed the findings of previously published studies that focused on the relationship between increased dietary exposure to fruits and vegetables and the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases. Researchers performed a meticulous meta-analysis on data obtained from more than 4 million persons.
Researchers observed participants at the top of the fruit and vegetable consumption ladder enjoyed significant protection against stroke, coronary heart disease, and other cardiovascular ailments. This study documented that habitual intake of generous portions of fruits and vegetables may help curtail the onset of stroke and cardiovascular diseases.
