Physical Activity and Alzheimer Disease: A Protective Association
Adopting a physically active life can help prevent the development of Alzheimer's disease in elderly individuals.
This study looked at the risk of Alzheimer's disease occurring in older men and women based on the level of physical activity. Researchers performed a meticulous meta-analysis on data extracted from over 20,000 persons aged 70 to 80 years.
Researchers found a reduced incidence of Alzheimer's disease among physically active participants. The data from this study suggest that engaging in physical activity regularly may help halt the onset of Alzheimer's disease in older adults.
