Dietary fiber intake and pancreatic cancer risk: a meta-analysis of epidemiologic studies
Eating generous portions of fiber-rich foods may help shield an individual from pancreatic cancer.
This meta-analysis evaluated data from studies that focused on the association between high dietary ingestion of fiber and pancreatic cancer risk. Researchers gathered data from 14 studies involving 3,287 pancreatic cancer patients.
Data analysis revealed that high fiber diets conferred lower risk of pancreatic cancer on men and women. Evidence from this study suggest that fondness for fiber-containing foods may safeguard an individual's pancreas from becoming cancerous.
