Rectal Cancer: 20% Risk Reduction Thanks to Dietary Fibre Intake. Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

High dietary ingestion of fiber-containing foods may help thwart the development of rectal cancer.

​This meta-analysis examined whether habitual consumption of fiber-rich foods can prevent the development of rectal cancer. Researchers reviewed data obtained from 22 scientific publications. 

Data analysis revealed a 20% reduction in the risk of rectal cancer among consistent consumers of high fiber foods. This study adds to the body of literature describing the beneficial effect of fiber-containing foods in the prevention of rectal cancer.
