Preventing diverticular disease. Review of recent evidence on high-fibre diets
Fondness for fiber-rich foods may help guard against the development of diverticular disease.
This study was carried out to confirm the protective effect of dietary fiber against diverticular disease. Researchers analyzed at the findings of studies published between January 1966 to December 2001.
Researchers identified a favorable association between high dietary ingestion of fiber and reduced risk of diverticular disease. This meta-analysis showed that eating fiber-containing foods may hinder the development of diverticular disease.
