Association between soft drinks consumption and asthma: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Avid consumption of soft drinks may bump up the risk of asthma in children and adults.
This meta-analysis seeks to obtain additional evidence linking the intake of soft drinks with the development of asthma. A total of 19 studies was considered eligible for this meta-analysis.
Researchers identified an upward trend in the risk of asthma in children and adults fond of consuming soft drinks. This study demonstrated that high dietary ingestion of soft drinks may be a major contributing factor to the development of asthma in children and adults.
