An increased intake of nutrients, fruits, and green vegetables was negatively related to the risk of arthritis and osteoarthritis development in the aging population
Passionate consumption of fruits and vegetables may make middle-aged and older adults less likely to suffer from arthritis and osteoarthritis.
This study determined whether high dietary intake of fruits and vegetables can slash the risk of arthritis and osteoarthritis in middle-aged and elderly men and women. The study population included 33,966 men and women above the age of 50 years who participated in the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.
Researchers discovered that the likelihood of having arthritis and osteoarthritis decreased with increase in the frequency of consumption of fruits and vegetables. This study demonstrated that regular ingestion of fruits and vegetables may help to combat the development of arthritis and osteoarthritis in middle-aged and older adults.
