Sugar-sweetened beverage intake and chronic low back pain

Lovers of sugar-sweetened beverages may have a high tendency to suffer from chronic low back pain.

This study reviewed the relationship between regular drinking of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) and the subsequent development of chronic low back pain. Researchers followed 4,146 men and women, monitoring their sugar-sweetened beverage consumption habits and the prevalence of chronic low back pain in the study population.

Researchers discovered that chronic low back pain was a common complaint among frequent consumers of sugary beverages. This study found a strong correlation between habitual intake of sugar-sweetened beverages and the occurrence of chronic low back pain.
