Alcohol consumption and risk of lung cancer: a pooled analysis of cohort studies.
The odds of developing lung cancer may be tilted against lovers of alcohol.
This study examined whether an individual likeness for alcohol is tied to subsequent development of lung cancer using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers assessed 7 alcohol and lung cancer studies involving 399,767 subjects and 3,137 cases of lung cancer.
The team of investigators found out that the intake of 30 grams or more of alcohol per day resulted in higher risk of acquiring lung cancer. This study points out that alcohol use may favor the development of lung cancer.
