Alcohol consumption and the risk of rosacea: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Alcohol usage may make an individual highly vulnerable to develop rosacea.

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition characterized by swelling, pimples, and redness of the face. This study synthesized data from previously published studies that looked at how alcohol consumption influences the risk of having rosacea. Researchers compiled data and evidence extracted from 14 studies.

Researchers observed that the more alcohol individuals consumed, the greater their chances of suffering from rosacea. The data from this study further strengthen the body of evidence that alcohol drinking may trigger the development of rosacea.
