Lifetime Alcohol Intake and Risk of Rectal Cancer in Western New York
Long-term consumers of alcohol may have a high disposition to suffer from rectal cancer.
This study set out to answer the question: does long-term drinking of alcohol up the risk of having rectal cancer? Researchers evaluated 422 US men and women with rectal cancer with regards to their frequency of alcohol consumption.
Researchers noted that habitual intake of alcohol correlated with elevated risk of rectal cancer. The results of this study show that consuming alcohol for a long time may foster the development and spread of cancer in the rectum.
