Association between caffeine intake from foods and beverages in the diet and hearing loss in United States adults

Individuals who enjoy consuming coffee and other caffeine-rich beverages may have a high tendency to suffer from hearing loss.

This study aimed to understand the relationship between habitual intake of caffeinated beverages and the development of hearing loss. Researchers collated data on the level of consumption of caffeine-containing beverages and the rate of occurrence of hearing loss among 6,082 US men and women.

Researchers noted that hearing loss was prevalent among lovers of caffeinated beverages, such as coffee. This study identified high dietary ingestion of caffeine as a risk factor for hearing loss in men and women.
