The association of smoking on the increased risk of osteoporotic fracture: Results from a cross-sectional study and two-sample Mendelian randomization
Smoking may weaken bones and result in osteoporotic fractures in men and women.
This study investigated if smoking is tied to the development of osteoporotic fracture. Researchers collated and analyzed data and evidence drawn from over 30,000 Chinese men and women.
Researchers discovered that osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures occurred at a high frequency among smokers. This study further affirmed the detrimental effect of smoking on bone health.
