Association between dietary antioxidant index and risk of Helicobacter pylori infection among adults: a case-control study
Adequate intake of antioxidants from food sources may slash an individual's risk of being infected with helicobacter pylori.
This study investigated how increased dietary exposure to antioxidants influenced an individual's chances of contracting helicobacter pylori infection. Researchers studied the diets of 148 patients infected with helicobacter pylori and 302 individuals without the infection.
Researchers found a low percentage of helicobacter pylori infection among frequent consumers of plant foods packed with antioxidants. This study concluded that regular ingestion of antioxidants from food sources may strengthen an individual's defenses against helicobacter pylori's infection.
