Fruit and vegetable consumption associated with reduced risk of epithelial ovarian cancer in southern Chinese women.
Regular intake of generous portions of fruits and vegetables may help to fend off ovarian cancer.
This study evaluated the role high dietary intake of fruits and vegetables play in the prevention of ovarian cancer. A total of 1,000 women recruited from Southern China participated in this study and were assessed by their diets and observed for ovarian cancer incidence.
Researchers observed that women on high fruit and vegetable diets were less prone to develop ovarian cancer compared with their counterparts who ate little or no fruits and vegetables. The findings of this study reveal that increase in the frequency of consumption of fruits and vegetables may help to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.
