The relationship between vegetable/fruit consumption and gallbladder/bile duct cancer: A population-based cohort study in Japan
Habitual consumption of fruits and vegetables may help shield an individual from bile duct cancer.
This study was carried out to ascertain the protective effect of high fruit and vegetable diet against cancer of the gallbladder and bile duct. A total of 80,371 Japanese men and women participated in this study.
Researchers noticed that the odds of having bile duct cancer declined with increase in the rate of consumption of fruits and vegetables. The results of this study show that frequent intake of fruits and vegetables may confer individuals with significant protection against cancer of the bile duct.
