The association between dietary fiber intake and severe headaches or migraine in US adults
Incorporating high fiber foods may help shield an individual from migraines or severe headaches.
This research work studied the consumption of fiber in relation to the subsequent development of migraines or severe headaches. The study included more than 12,000 US men and women who were surveyed about their diet and health.
Researchers noted that for every extra 10 grams of fiber consumed per day, the probability of having migraines or severe headaches decreased by 11%. This study concluded that "increasing the intake of fiber-rich foods might protect from severe headache or migraine."
