Higher anthocyanin intake is associated with a lower risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in the United States adult population
Incorporating foods rich in anthocyanins into our diet may slash our propensity to end up with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
This research work was conducted to verify the protective effect of a high anthocyanin diet against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Researchers charted dietary exposure to anthocyanins against the presence or absence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Researchers noted that the odds of preventing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease were tilted in favor of generous consumers of anthocyanin-rich foods. The takeaway from this study is that embracing a diet packed with anthocyanin-containing foods may help combat the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
