Indulgence in sugary beverages may lead to weight gain in children and adults.
This study analyzed whether heightened consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages is tied to weight gain in children and adults. Researchers performed a comprehensive meta-analysis on a pool of data drawn out from 32 scientific publications.
Researchers discovered that generous drinking of sugary beverages resulted in weight gain in both children and adults. The data from this study indicate that children and adults with heavy intake of sugar-sweetened beverages may have a high tendency to pile up excess pounds.
