Increased stroke risk is related to a binge-drinking habit.
Binge drinking may increase an individual's susceptibility to stroke.
This study assessed how binge drinking influences the likelihood of suffering from stroke. Researchers evaluated the alcohol drinking habits and incidence rates of stroke in a study population comprising of over 15,000 Finnish men and women aged 25-64 years.
Researchers found a significant elevation in the risk of stroke among subjects who were binge drinkers. This study suggests that binge drinkers may be highly vulnerable to a stroke attack.
