Risk of pancreatitis according to alcohol drinking habits: a population-based cohort study.
A surge in pancreatitis risk is associated with alcohol consumption.
This study explored the relationship between the use of alcohol and the chances of developing pancreatitis. A group of researchers from the Danish National Institute of Public Health evaluated the alcohol drinking habits and health records of 17,905 men and women recruited from the Copenhagen City Heart Study.
The research team found out that alcohol consumption promoted the development of pancreatitis in men and women. The outcomes of this study support the hypothesis that alcohol consumers may have a high disposition to pancreatitis.
