Animal fat consumption and prostate cancer: a prospective study in Hawaii.

High dietary ingestion of animal products rich in fats may increase a man's susceptibility to prostate cancer.

This study examined the correlation between following a diet high in animal fats and the probability of acquiring prostate cancer. Researchers tracked the diets and rate of prostate cancer diagnosis among 20,316 US men residing in Hawaii.

The research team discovered that lovers of foods rich in animal fats had high likelihood of acquiring prostate cancer. The researchers concluded that larger intake of animal fats may play a significant role in the development of prostate cancer.
