Physical activity and risks of proximal and distal colon cancers: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Regular exercise may help to fend off colon cancer.

This meta-analysis investigated the impact of physical activity on the risk of colon cancer. A total of 21 studies were considered for this meta-analysis.

Researchers found out that regular exercise decreased the risk of developing cancer in the proximal and distal colon. A 27% reduction in the risk of proximal colon cancer was observed in the most physically active participants in this study. The results of this study show that engaging in physical activities regularly may play a significant role in the prevention of colon cancer.
