Association between Dietary Inflammatory Index and Gastric Adenocarcinoma: A Multicenter Case-Control Study in Brazil
Diets that favor the consumption of proinflammatory foods may trigger the formation, growth, and spread of cancerous cells and tumors in the stomach.
This study investigated the hypothesis that consuming a proinflammatory diet may make an individual more likely to develop gastric (stomach) cancer. The study population consisted of 1,645 Brazilian men and women.
Researchers found a high rate of stomach cancer among participants on diets rich in proinflammatory foods. The findings of this study revealed that eating a proinflammatory diet may drive up the risk of gastric cancer in men and women.
