Intake of Fruit and Vegetables and the Risk of Ischemic Stroke in a Cohort of Danish Men and Women
Habitual intake of fruits, especially citrus fruits, may lower the risk of ischemic stroke.
This study looked at the association between regular ingestion of fruits and vegetables and the prevalence of stroke among Danish men and women. Researchers charted fruit and vegetable intake against stroke incidence in a study group comprising of more than 50,000 persons.
Researchers found out that lovers of fruits, particularly citrus fruits, had slight chances of suffering from ischemic stroke. This study suggests that frequent consumption of fruits may prevent ischemic stroke attack.
