High dietary fiber intake prevents stroke at a population level

Stroke is less likely to occur among avid consumers of fiber-dense foods.

This study looked at the effect of high fiber diet on stroke risk. Researchers studied the nutritional and medical records of 1,647 individuals for a duration of 12 years.

Researchers noted that individuals who ate the highest amounts of high fiber foods had the lowest chances of experiencing a stroke attack. This study demonstrates that including more fiber-rich foods in our diet may be vital for stroke prevention.
