Association between edible mushrooms consumption and handgrip strength: A large-scale population based on the TCLSIH cohort study
Avid consumption of mushrooms may enhance handgrip strength in men and women.
This research work studied the impact of a high mushroom diet on handgrip strength in men and women. With the aid of validated food frequency questionnaires, researchers collated and examined data on the eating habits of 32,308 Chinese men and women. The handgrip strength of all the study participants were measured regularly using a handheld digital dynamometer.
Researchers found a favorable association between frequent intake of mushrooms and increased handgrip strength. The data from this study indicate that high dietary ingestion of mushrooms may boost handgrip strength in both males and females.
