This study investigated the adherence to vegetarian diet-reduced colorectal cancer risk connection hypothesis. A total of 96,354 members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church participated in this study and were assessed for their dietary choices and observed for incidence of colorectal cancer by a team of scientist from Loma Linda University.

The experts discovered that the likelihood of suffering from colorectal cancer declined with frequent consumption of vegetarian diets. "Vegetarian diets are associated with an overall lower incidence of colorectal cancers," concluded the authors.
