Correlation between fruit consumption and 10-year all-cause mortality in patients with dyslipidemia

Upping the intake of fruits, especially apples and bananas, may increase the lifespan of patients with dyslipidemia.

This research work determined how dietary intake of fruits can impact the lifespan of patients with high blood levels of lipids (dyslipidemia). Researchers tracked the dietary and mortality records of 2,184 patients with dyslipidemia over a 10-year period.

Researchers found a low death toll among patients with dyslipidemia who ate apples or bananas at least 3-4 times per week. This study demonstrated that fondness for fruits, such as bananas and apples, could elongate the lifespan of patients with elevated plasma concentrations of lipids.
