High salt intake as a multifaceted cardiovascular disease: new support from cellular and molecular evidence

Indulgence in salty foods may stack the odds of suffering from cardiovascular disease against an individual.

This study analyzed evidence linking high dietary intake of salt with the development of cardiovascular disease. Data from a pool of eligible studies were evaluated for this study.

Researchers identified a positive association between fondness for salty foods and high prevalence of cardiovascular disease. This study concluded that a high salt diet may be a major contributing factor to the development of cardiovascular disease.
