Hyperuricemia tends to affect lovers of pro-inflammatory foods.

High plasma levels of uric acid (hyperuricemia) might be a risk factor for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. This study assessed the effect pro-inflammatory diet has on serum concentrations of uric acid. Researchers studied the diets and measured the amounts of uric acid floating in the blood of more than 30,000 US men and women.

Researchers found high levels of uric acid in the blood of participants who consumed generous amounts of pro-inflammatory foods. The findings of this study revealed that eating pro-inflammatory diet may promote the development of hyperuricemia in men and women.
