This study ascertained whether high dietary intake of salty foods favors the development of hypertension and kidney disease. Researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data and evidence drawn out from 47 studies.
Researchers noted that hypertension and kidney disease were prevalent among study participants on a high salt diet. This meta-analysis corroborated the results of other studies that found a strong link between devout consumption of salty foods and increased incidence of hypertension and kidney disease.
