Data drawn out of eligible studies and case reports were reviewed for this study.
Researchers observed that caffeine use heightened the risk of experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, sleep disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychotic illnesses. In addition, avid consumption of caffeine was found to aggravate psychotic symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. This study further demonstrates that habitual ingestion of caffeine may be detrimental to the mental health of an individual.
