Cannabis exposure and risk of testicular cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Cannabis use may increase a man's susceptibility to cancer of the testes.
This study was undertaken to analyze the relationship between cannabis use and a man's odds of receiving a diagnosis of testicular cancer using a meta-analytic approach. A total of 3 studies published between 1980 and 2015 was included in this meta-analysis.
Data analysis revealed that regular exposure to cannabis correlated with high risk of having cancer of the testes. According to this study, men who used cannabis at least once every week increased their risk of developing testicular cancer by two and a half times compared to their counterparts who refrained from using this psychoactive drug. This meta-analysis provides further evidence that cancer of the testes is highly likely to occur among frequent users of cannabis.
