Cannabis use disorder and increased risk of arrhythmia-related hospitalization in young adults
Cannabis users may have a high tendency of ending up in the hospital with arrhythmia.
This research work studied the connection between cannabis abuse and arrhythmia occurrence and hospitalization rates in men and women. Researchers matched cannabis usage with hospital admissions from arrhythmia among over half a million American men and women.
Researchers found out that cannabis users constituted a significant proportion of patients admitted and being treated for arrhythmia in hospitals in the United States. This study concluded that cannabis intake may increase an individual's chances of landing in the hospital with arrhythmia.
